About The Cabin

The Cove was inspired by our own whimsical design. Wrap yourself in plush spa robes and step out onto your private patio just off the exquisite bedroom. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the four person hot tub while surrounded by woods, fields, and prairie. Nine foot ceilings, arched walls, rich colors, and romantic, dimmable lighting give this unique and spacious one bedroom cottage a luxurious, cozy, romantic ambience. Sun tunnels cast natural light in the living room, kitchen, and roomy bathroom.

Egyptian or Turkish cotton thick hooded robes for colder months and lighter plush robes for summer
Five foot ceramic/glass shower.
Exquisitely comfortable king size comfort core bed with temperpedic pillows for neck support
Cozy gas fire place (Usable October 1 – May 10)
Brick outdoor fire pit
Charcoal BBQ grill on brick patio (please bring own charcoal and lighter fluid)
High end towels and linens
Whole bean gourmet coffee with a grinder and Keurig Duo coffee maker.
Tea kettle and tea
Fully equipped kitchen with basic spice rack and olive oil
Refrigerater/freezer, 5 burner gas stove/range, microwave, Crock Pot, waffle maker, toaster, utensils, pots, pans, glasses and dishware
Of course we have wine glasses and a margarita set!
BOSE Sound dock speaker system. (Auxiliary input lets you play other audio sources)
Satellite TV with 40 inch LED television
Blue-Ray DVD Player
Private deck and patio with outdoor seating
Romantic lighting with LED candles
Washer/Dryer
High efficiency air conditioning and heat

April – December weekends are three day minimums that must include either Thursday or Sunday with Friday and Saturday.

If you would like to bring your child, please call us. We will usually be able to work with you.

Contact us if you have not received a confirmation number. Your reservation has not been confirmed until you receive a confirmation number.

Single nights can only be reserved within 14 days of arrival. Please read single night policy.

Significant discount with Seven Day Package

Stay seven consecutive nights – $179 nightly.
+ 11% lodging tax
Holiday rates are the same as weekend rates.

Accepted credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express. *2.9% processing fee automatically applied.

Reservations will be allowed for up to two pets at the Cove Cabin and the French Creole Cabin ONLY.

Pets are not allowed at the Hollow Cabin. Please do not call and ask for an exception to that rule.

If we decide to suspend our Pets Allowed policy due to abuse, we will refund any pet fee previously applied.

There will be a flat rate of $75 for one dog, a second dog will be an additional $35. This applies to any length of stay.

Guests must disclose that they will be bringing a pet. Pets are only allowed with permission.

If booking online, you can submit the information and payment upon check-out. After the reservation is made, we will call you to about bringing your pet. If we decide this does not seem like a situation with which we feel comfortable, we will refund your pet fee. Rates for pets is posted on our Rates page.

As I take up the staff of Mithrandir to leave a message, I muse upon the beauty of this land that has entirely assuaged the pain and exhaustion of my soul. With the swiftness of Shadowfax we left our home in Chicago to come for a weekend of calm and relaxation in the Shire. Though before now, I had no memory of this place. Now I leave with fondest times spent. We thank you so much for your meticulous attention to detail, delicious pastries, good wine, and welcoming atmosphere.
Dearest Ed and Nancy, we will not forget soon the beauty of this land, nor the delight we had in it. There may come a day, when the strength of men fails, but it is not this day! Thank you so much!
